Below is a draft of the pres release that I wrote for some of the magazines and media companies here on the Costa del Sol. The article explains about the background to the academy and the health & beauty courses that we're offering in Marbella.

The Shanti Som Health and Beauty Academy, based in Cancelada near to Marbella, is set to become the premier health and beauty academy in Andalucia. The school runs a wide range of health and beauty courses carrying the highly recognised ITEC qualification. The Shanti Som Health and Beauty Academy is a continuation of the long established Christine Shaw Therapy School. Christine Shaw, a well respected and admired teacher, has been working at the forefront of health and beauty qualifications for the past 40 years, both in London and Spain. Having recently decided to take a step back from the hands on teaching work, Christine Shaw has handed over the running of the school to Kezia Jacobsen. Kezia has been involved in the health and beauty industry for the past 20 years and has established herself on the Costa del Sol at the forefront of complementary health with the successful Shanti Som Spa. Continuing under the new name of the Shanti Som Health and Beauty Academy, the school carries on the great work that has been achieved over previous years. Kezia Jacobsen had a fantastically successful first year in charge of the Academy in 2008 -9, achieving an impressive 100% pass rate with her students in all courses. Kezia has recruited Amanda Parker and James Woods to help with the running of the Academy. Amanda and James have been involved in the health industry for the past 15 years. Amanda is a highly respected alternative health practitioner and an established massage, reflexology and anatomy & physiology therapist and teacher on the Costa de Sol. James brings his health and fitness and personal training qualifications to the Academy and they will both be working hard to move the school forward and offer a wide range of courses. In addition to the full and part time courses, the Academy will also be running shorter one and two day courses throughout the year such as Indian Head Massage, Hopi Ear Candles, Baby Massage, Healthy Cooking Days and Nutrition Courses. The Academy will be running many health and fitness courses and workshops, bringing together aspects of yoga, exercise and weight loss in addition to the conventional courses.

The Shanti Som Health and Beauty Academy offers a wide range of ITEC certified health and beauty courses including beauty specialist, beauty therapy, waxing, nails and facial courses, while the health courses include reflexology, holistic massage and anatomy and physiology.
